Melbourne advocate named 2014 Florida Retailer of the Year

Melbourne, Fla. (June 9, 2014)—Caroline Caudill, a member of the board of directors for Children's Home Society of Florida, serving children and families in Brevard County, has been named the 2014 Florida Retailer of the Year by the Florida Retail Federation (FRF). As the owner of The Chandlery, which sells high-end home décor and candles in historic downtown Melbourne, Caudill will be honored at an award luncheon on June 19 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.

Caudill was selected by the FRF in part because of her ongoing commitment to her community, which includes her work with Children's Home Society of Florida to help end the cycle of abuse for more families. She was also one of many children helped by Children’s Home Society of Florida. She credits the organization with giving her the opportunity to plan for her future and learn more about the world.

“Caroline’s experiences with Children's Home Society of Florida strengthen her connection to our organization and the children we serve. Her commitment to creating a safe and caring community is inspiring,” said Teresa Miles, executive director for Children's Home Society of Florida.  Caudill was the recipient of the
organization’s Dave Thomas Child Advocate of the Year award in 2012.

In addition to helping raise awareness and support for programs like Children’s Home Society’s Hacienda Girls Ranch, a residential foster home, Caudill hosts monthly “Parties with a Purpose” events at her store. Proceeds from these monthly events benefit various charities around Brevard County. For more information about The Chandlery and “Parties with a Purpose,” visit www.thechandlery.com
